The CW reveals Official Synopsis of Burden of Truth episode Scorched Earth

The CW has released the Official Synopsis of Burden of Truth episode “Scorched Earth” (4.04) that will be aired on Friday, August 20 at 8:00-9:00 PM.

With an end of the day deadline looming for charges in her criminal case, Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) and her legal team must work quickly to clear her name, as her role in the past conspiracy becomes uncomfortably clear. Joanna’s likely culpability is problematic for Luna (Star Slade), who continues to work in her legal defense, but tensions rise as they race against the clock to find evidence to get the charges dropped. Meanwhile, Billy (Peter Mooney) gets a promising lead in the mine’s involvement in the accident that put Helen in the hospital, but his investigation leads to a challenging day with his father (guest star Oliver Becker) and a personal revelation that has profound consequences for Joanna and Billy.

“Burden of Truth” is starring Kristin Kreuk as Joanna Chang, Peter Mooney as Billy Crawford, Star Slade as Luna Spence, Meegwun Fairbrother as Officer Owen Beckbie, Anwen O’Driscoll as Taylor Matheson, Brynn Godenir as Stevie Nichols, Paul Essiembre as Nevin Page, Skye Pelletier as Kip Bellegarde.

Kelly Makin directed the episode written by Shannon Masters (#404).

In Burden of Truth, Attorney Joanna Hanley (Kristin Kreuk) leaves her picture-perfect legal career as a partner in a corporate law firm to solve the case of a mysterious illness affecting the female high school students of her hometown Millwood in Manitoba – a prairie town with an industrial past and an uncertain future.

Burden of Truth is produced by IFC Films and Entertainment One in association with Eagle Vision Inc. with executive producers Ilana Frank, Adam Pettle, Jocelyn Hamilton, Linda Pope and Kristin Kreuk.
